<lj:music>"behind these hazel eyes" --kelly clarkson</lj:music>

i spent the time between the hours of 9:00-1:15 at school today at work call. here's a general schedule of how my work time went:

9:00-9:05: move large platform onto stage.

9:05-about 10:30: organize the costume room with Liz.

10:30-11:00: sweep the stage with Ken and Devin.

11:00-12:00: do whatever is asked of me.

12:00-12:03: start in on the toolbox with Ken.

12:03-about 12:20: eat lunch with the other people.

12:20-1:10: organize the toolbox with Ken.

1:15: go home.

so. extremely. tired.

work call was pretty fun though. i mean, cleaning/organizing the costume room sucked. spending a good hour or hour and a half moving, cleaning, labeling, removing and shuffling boxes, while also organizing costumes = not fun.

sweeping was o.k. i guess. i wasn't really in the mood to deal with devin, so i tried to steer clear of him. i pretty well succeeded. what i found out though, was that the inevitable equation is: men screwdriving = lots of sawdust.

lunch was pretty fun, though. just grab a slice of pizza, find a spot on the floor, plop. lorenzo, liz, ken and i talked about stuff, stuff like belgium, IS, french, 6th graders, and nostalgic stuff. turns out that lorenzo's family is from a town in belgium where ken's grandfather was born. then ken and lorenzo started talking in french. i was watching them talk with raised eyebrows; ken turned to me and asked, "Prenez-vous le français?" (i mean, i think that's what he said. i don't remember exactly, but what i put there means "do you take french?", so i think that's a close guess.)

i shook my head. "german."

it was kind of an interesting age span at work call today. i was the first one to show up (shocking). then came devin, then ken, then lorenzo, and around lunch, Michael showed up. then kelsey and emily showed up. so here's the grade/age layout for you:

me - seventh grade
devin - eighth grade
lorenzo - ninth grade
ken - eleventh grade
michael - twelfth grade
kelsey - twelfth grade
emily - twelfth grade

the cool thing about IS is the comfortable rapport you develop with older students. i.e., on Focus Week i felt like, totally at ease with ian and francis. the same thing happened today. when ken and i were working on organizing the toolbox, we were talking a little, and it felt totally comfortable and relaxed. i think i feel more comfortable with most guys then girls. there isn't really as much pressure to be "cool" or whatever. ken and i just talked, and it was kinda fun.

although i really could have gone without all the scrapes i got from those nails, screws and bolts.

but hey, you win some, you lose some.

sleepily,
~~me

What?)

*chorus* x2

(fade out w/ instruments)

It's kind of a work in progress, and I actually changed some stuff while I was retyping it. The chorus originally started out with "Rape a rainbow", and I'm trying to decide if I should change it back. Suggestions would be helpful.

I would write a regular post but i'm really tired, so maybe tomorrow.
